Why do we say this and why should you care.
At Bryant Unlimited we are proud of the way we manufacture and test our mains distribution units, but we are being pressed to compete with units manufactured in the Far East and want to share with our customers the most obvious likely differences in build quality between the two.
- In order to reduce the price, some manufacturers are using PCBs to distribute the mains. Whilst the PCB tracks have doubtless been designed to carry the necessary current while the unit is in use, we do not believe them capable of carrying the overload current should an electrical fault occur. At best they may vaporise and at worst they may overheat and start smoking/ignite.
Bryant Unlimited units are wired using Tri-Rated Switchgear Cable formed into daisy-chain looms fed from both ends, thus providing 'overkill' for the required current rating for normal use; and safe overcurrent protection should an overload fault occur.
